Tired of talking about it? Your body has something to say
You’ve done the talking.
The explaining.
The endless rehashing.
Maybe to a therapist. Maybe to friends.
Maybe just in your own head at 3AM.
And still - something’s stuck.
Here’s the truth no one tells you.
Talking isn’t always enough.
In fact, sometimes it keeps you circling the same story.
Meanwhile, your body, the part of you that felt it all - is left out of the conversation entirely.
At The Dandelion Project , we work with women who’ve been through it.
Not all of them call themselves survivors.
Not all of them even know what happened to them wasn’t okay.
But every single one of them knows what it feels like to carry something heavy inside that no words seem to touch.
That’s where movement comes in.
Your Body is the Missing Piece.
You’re not “too sensitive”.
You’re not “over it by now”.
And no, you don’t need to keep sitting in a room trying to explaining what you can’t even name.
Here’s what we know:
The body stores what the mind can’t process.
Trauma isn’t just emotional - it’s physical. It lives in your shoulders, your chest, your hips, your breath. It changes how you walk into a room. How you hold yourself. How you trust (or don’t).
So let’s stop pretending that healing can happen with words alone.
Movement is the therapy you didn’t know you needed.
You don’t need choreography.
You don’t need fitness gear.
You don’t even need to be “ready”.
You just need to show up.
Survivor Steps: RISE is a six-week dance-based programme designed to help you move through what words can’t reach.
It’s gentle.
It’s trauma-informed.
And it’s nothing like a gym class.
This is for you if:
You’re experienced difficult or toxic relationships
You’ve stopped trusting your body
You’re done talking and ready to feel something different
You want community without pressure
You crave a space that feels safe, real and deeply empowering
Next programme begins Friday 02 May 2025
We’re now taking the final registrations for our next Survivor Steps programme in Colchester. This is a fully funded course - no cost to you.
Deadline to register is Wednesday 30 April.
Not local to Colchester or can’t make the dates? Don’t worry, please still register your interest and a member of our team will be in touch soon.
Ready to move in a new direction?
Because you don’t need to talk about it one more time.
You just need to move.
