Supporting Wellbeing for Survivors of Domestic Abuse
Resources to help you build confidence, resilience and emotional well-being.
How Do Life Experiences Shape Well-being?
At The Dandelion Project, we know that supporting wellbeing is essential in the journey of recovery after domestic abuse. Survivors often face long-term emotional, psychological and physical effects that can impact every area of life. That’s why we’ve created safe, trauma-informed spaces where wellbeing is nurtured through movement, connection and community.
Whether you’re taking your first step or seeking new tools for growth, our programmes are designed to support your emotional healing and help you rebuild your confidence. Because supporting health and wellbeing isn’t just important - it’s transformative.
Why is supporting wellbeing important after abuse?
Domestic abuse affects more than just your safety - it leaves invisible wounds that affect your sense of self, your relationships and your mental health. Supporting emotional wellbeing helps rebuild what’s been lost.
When we prioritise supporting mental health and wellbeing, survivors gain the tools to manage anxiety, improve self-esteem, and feel more in control of their lives. Our approach uses mindful movement and community-based support to help you reconnect with yourself - at your own pace.
Our Trauma-Informed Approach to Supporting Health and Wellbeing
Every part of our programme is built on understanding, safety and empowerment. We use movement, creativity, and group connection to support recovery in a way that honours your lived experience. Our spaces are gentle, inclusive and rooted in compassion.
We believe supporting wellbeing starts with being seen, heard and held in a non-judgemental space - free from pressure, compassion or shame.
